Upcoming fashion events “en vogue” in Europe
Fashion For Change has selected 9 fashion events geared towards sustainable fashion that we recommend attending.
First in line is the Copenhagen Fashion Week from August 10 – 13 along with the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair. Sustainability at these events is highly valued and they encourage the fashion industry to take steps towards more responsible business practises.
MunichFabricStart from August 31 – September 2 is an international fabric trade show and THE place to be if you’re interested in sustainable textiles and fabrics. There it is possible to get an overview of current material development produced in an ecologically and socially responsible manner and it welcomes designers with sustainable innovation ideas.
It is followed by the Who’s Next fashion event on September 3 – 6 in Paris, featuring a special initiative called Impact dedicated to sustainable fashion and design. It seeks to promote new ways of producing and consuming fashion by uniting all the players of the fashion industry to discuss and build the future of fashion.
On September 24, the “SOS Design” Conference will open the doors in Tallinn where sustainable design and fashion issues are discussed by industry experts. The event is a part of Tallinn Design Festival.
Not to be missed is the Copenhagen Fashion Summit from October 7 – 8. Under the motto “Prosperity vs. Growth”, CFS 2021 brings together stakeholders from the fashion and related industries to explore how the industry can help provide for a sustainable future. This event will take place in an online format. The Dutch Design Week from October 16 – 24 will be taking place in the same spirit.
From October 20 -22 in Antwerp, Belgium, the event Can fashion save the world? will take place as part of a Responsible Fashion Series, a cooperation of renowned universities, designed for participants from academia, media and business.
The Textile Sustainability Conference in Dublin is top of the agenda from November 15 – 19, providing inspirational presentations from industry experts, networking opportunities, success stories and best practice cases around sustainability, and updates on new trends and technologies.
